SeaIntel: No reason to rejoice over rates

A large increase in spot rates on the Asia-Europe routes was nothing more than expected, and rates will decline again going into December, assesses Lars Jensen, CEO and partner in SeaIntel.

There is no reason to rejoice over an increase in container spot rates on the Asia-Europe routes which went up by 112.4 % - or USD 753 - per teu this week, says Lars Jensen, CEO and partner in analysis firm SeaIntel.
