Former Maersk exec to head Russian bunker company

Russian Summa Group prepares a global offense in the bunker industry, headed by Peter Grundwaldt, formerly of Maersk and Glencore.

The Russian Summa Group, which has major interests in logistics and shipping, and which is owned by Russian businessman Ziyavudin Magomedov (photo), plans to establish a new global bunker company with offices placed centrally in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Peter M. Grundwaldt has been brought in to head the company. His background includes time spent at Maersk and Glencore, among others, according to news media Ship & Bunker.

Soyuz Bunkering Group (SBG), part of Summa Group, recently opened offices in Dubai and Rotterdam, while sister company Souz Asia, which has operated out of Hong Kong for the past two years, will be part of the new bunker setup.
