Intermarine: Further consolidation needed in multipurpose

The project cargo segment will remain flat in 2014, and there will continue to be a need for consolidation in the industry, says Ask Munck, Managing Director of Intermarine's World Wide Division.

The multipurpose market is expected to remain low throughout 2014 and will continue to be affected by overcapacity founded in the good years of 2007 and 2008.

Last summer Thorco took over the operation of the Clipper Project fleet and 16 months ago, Danish Scan-Trans merged with American Intermarine. But that is not enough to create a healthy market, says Ask Munck, Managing Director of Intermarine’s World Wide division:
