Russian oil giant acquires Heidmar Group

Investment bank Morgan Stanley sells oil activities and its stake in tanker company Heidmar Group, with its 100 ships, to Russian Rosneft, which thus secures its first foothold in the United States.

American investment bank Morgan Stanley has sold the majority of its global, physical oil activities to state-controlled Russian oil behemoth Rosneft. The bank's 49 percent stake in Heidmar is included in the transaction. The carrier controls and operates around 100 ships in five pools - Star Tankers, Blue Fin Tankers, Dorado Tankers, Seawolf, and Sigma Tankers.
