EU expects sanctions against Russia in a few days
According to the British Prime Minister and the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, the EU could be ready to introduce sanctions against Russia already in a few days. The announced referendum on Crimea on March 16th could be decisive.

Sanctions against Russia have been underway ever since Russian troops in late February took control of the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea in the wake of the rebellion in the country.
