E.R. Schiffahrt, one of Germany's biggest owners of container and dry bulk vessels, has launched a collaboration with classification company DNV GL to implement a comprehensive program, "Energy Efficiency on Board," aimed at increasing fuel savings on all 112 ships in the company's fleet.
According to E.R. Schiffahrt and DNV GL, this marks the first time a company performs the program across an entire fleet, training seafarers to support the operators of the company's ships in an effort to boost energy savings at all levels on board.
