The US and the EU will target Russian energy sector

The United States and the EU are looking at the energy sector, in terms of introducing new sanctions against Russia, President Barack Obama said in Brussels on Wednesday.

Officials from the United States and the EU are currently discussing ways of targeting Russia with sanctions, following the crisis in the Ukraine.

And this could impact the energy sector, if Russia - which has annexed the Crimean peninsula in spite of condemnations from across the globe - continues to seize parts of the Ukraine, said US President Barack Obama, who recently participated in a summit with top EU officials in Brussels.
