Compromise on NOx rules on the way

Discussions are underway to secure a NOx implementation proposal somewhere between Russia's proposed postponement and the original 2016 date, according to ShippingWatch's sources at this week's MEPC meeting.

Heated debates about NOx emissions from ships are currently taking place at the meeting of the IMO's Marine Environment Protection Committee, MEPC, in London this week, but in spite of the numerous different opinions it does look like a compromise will be reached during this week.
