Organizations: IMO shelved ballast water at meeting

Several international shipping organizations are complaining that governments at last week's IMO meeting did not address the ballast water management convention, which - according to the organizations - is too uncertain in its current form.

Several global organizations, including the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), Bimco, Intercargo, Intertanko, and the World Shipping Council are complaining that governments, during the meeting of the IMO's Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) last week, did not properly address the ballast water management convention.
