For dry bulk carriers waiting for strong numbers from the Chinese manufacturing sector to support the country's imports, today brought a slight disappointment. The same thing goes for the container carriers hoping for the EU to really boost the trade on the key route between Asia and Europe. Today was not the day for them to breathe a big sigh of relief, either.
The new spring forecast of economic developments in the EU countries in 2014 and 2015, and the growth forecast for the Chinese manufacturing sector disappointed slightly, says Bimco's Chief Shipping Analyst, Peter Sand, when estimating the numbers.
