Topaz anticipates challenging market

A bigger fleet boosted the result for offshore carrier Topaz and increased the company's net result by 33.3 percent compared to the same period 2013. The second quarter will be more challenging, says the carrier.

Offshore carrier Topaz Energy & Marine was able to present improvements across virtually all parameters after the first three months of 2014. In the first quarter, the company achieved a net result of USD 9.2 million, a 33.3 percent improvement compared to the USD 6.9 million the carrier made in the same period last year.

The revenue came to USD 89.4 million, a 6.7 percent increase, and the carrier's operating profit grew by 21.9 percent, to USD 42.8 million year-on-year, according to the company's interim report.
