
Shipowners have on several occasions complained and regretted that the coming regulations for the sulphur content in ship fuel are set to come into force on January 1st next year. And now several organizations and carriers are trying to postpone the sulphur emission control areas set to be implemented next year - the ECA zones.
19 British signatories, including members of the UK Chamber of Shipping, CMA CGM, Carnival UK, P&O Ferries and the British part of Stena Line are opposed to the sulphur regulations aimed particularly at the British.
