
The maritime safety strategy paper presented by the EU some months back comes at a good time, and there are several factors to start working on, says the European Community Shipowners' Association, ECSA, in a statement.
The strategy is the EU's first attempt at coordinating the numerous efforts, both within the EU system in Brussels and in terms of the individual countries, aimed at safe sailing and fighting piracy.
