Fayard to build Scandlines ferries

Scandlines has had difficulties getting its two new ferries completed, but now the company has chosen Fayard to bring the ferries in the water by 2015.

Building two ferries is a long process. At least for Scandlines, as the ferry operator has had more than a little trouble getting the two ferries ordered in 2012 finished and delivered. But now it seems set to happen. Scandlines has signed a contract with Fayard to complete work on the two ferries M/F Kronprins Frederik and M/F Prins Joachim.

"Scandlines and Fayard have worked together for the past 35 years and we know the yard as a reliable partner that can meet delivery dates. This factor has been crucial to us in the process," says Scandlines CEO Søren Poulsgaard Jensen in a statement.
