The historic crossing between Elsinore, Denmark and Helsingborg, Sweden has been sold to a European investment fund, under First State Investments, that focuses on infrastructure investments, says Scandlines in a statement.
The service is currently operated as a joint venture between Scandlines and Stena Line with a 50 percent stake each. By the end of January 2015 First State will take over operation of the service, at first with the support of Scandlines and Stena Line. The five ships currently servicing the route are included in the deal, just as the route will continue to be marketed under the name Scandlines Helsingor-Helsingborg.
