New vessels boosted Topaz' result in 2014

Offshore carrier Topaz improved its net result by more than 16 percent in 2014, primarily due to new vessels delivered to the fleet, while revenue grew to USD 404 million. 2015 will be difficult and marked by the low oil price, says the carrier.

The expansive offshore carrier Topaz Energy and Marine exited 2014 with a net result of USD 52.1 million, a 16.3 percent increase from USD 44.8 million in the previous year.

The consolidated revenue grew as well in 2014, though by more moderate 7.5 percent to USD 404.6 million from USD 376.4 million in 2013, writes the company in the annual report Tuesday. The improved result is primarily due to Topaz receiving seven new vessels in the past year, including a number of modern PSVs (Platform Supply Vessels).
