
Several shipping companies have supposedly been removed from the US list of sanctioned firms. After the historic nuclear accord Tuesday between Iran and the six superpowers including the US, the names of 16 executives at shipping companies have been removed from the list, according to several media sources. Iran's largest carrier Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) is among the carriers which have been taken off the list.
Iranian shipping has been strongly impacted by the western sanctions against the country where 132 shipping companies and 16 executives have been sanctioned in the US, writes Iran Daily. Apart from IRISL, the country's largest port operator Tidewater Middle East Maritime Company has also disappeared from the list and is now ready to resume cooperation with foreign companies for new trade:
