New share issue flops for Golden Ocean

There is evidently not a lot of interest for further investment in dry bulk carrier Golden Ocean. The Norwegian bulk carrier only managed to sell slightly more than a third of the shares in a new offering, which ended on Tuesday.

Dry bulk carrier Golden Ocean, which suffered a deficit of USD 220 million in the fiscal year 2015, only sold slightly more than a third of the shares in a new share issue, which ended Tuesday, according to a corporate statement from the Oslo Stock Exchange.

When the window for purchasing had closed, only 13,369,291 out of the total 34,368,400 issued shares - valued at NRK 5 (or USD 0.59) - had been sold. Add this up and the sum comes to USD 7.8 million.
