Lauritzen owner has acquired two gas carriers from Kosan

Danish carrier J. Lauritzen has sold purchase commitments on two gas carriers for almost USD 60 million to owner Lauritzen Fonden. The foundation will take over the vessels via a subsidiary.

J. Lauritzen has sold two gas carriers for a price of nearly USD 60 million to its owner Lauritzen Fonden.

The acquisition happens alongside a large financial aid program for the shipping group which has lost huge sums on the crisis in the dry bulk market. This crisis has overshadowed the solidly operated but much smaller gas business.
