Maersk: Brexit will complicate trade more across EU

"We consider it a loss that the UK decided to leave the EU, because this reduces the size of the internal market and will make trade more complicated over time," says the Maersk Group in a comment on the outcome of the UK referendum.

"It is a loss for the entire internal market that the UK is headed out of the EU, and this risks negatively impacting growth in Europe," says the Maersk Group after it became clear on Friday morning that the UK will be leaving the EU.

"We consider it a loss that the UK decided to leave the EU, as this reduces the size of the internal market and will make trade more complicated over time. This could be a disadvantage for the EU and the UK's growth opportunities and ambitions," states Anders Würtzen, head of Group Public Affairs at the group, in a written comment.
