Maersk is burned by its own restructuring plan

Paradoxically, Maersk's own solution to split its business has hit the transport and energy conglomerate, after Standard & Poor's downgraded its credit rating, say several sources. Standard & Poor's is now considering dropping the rating down another notch.

Global credit ratings bureau Standard & Poor's (S&P) is considering dropping its credit rating of Maersk down another notch not long after sinking ratings of the Danish transport and energy conglomerate. 

This is evident from an S&P assessment of Maersk, which is hit on most of the group's business areas while the conglomerate is amidst a comprehensive restructuring.
