Ardent signs service deal with UK coastguard

The somewhat recently established joint venture between Maersk-owned Svitzer and US-based Titan Salvage has signed a five-year service deal with the UK coastguard, MCA.

Salvor Ardent has signed a five-year deal with the UK coastguard, MCA, for which Ardent will provide towage of distressed vessels off the north and west coasts of Scotland with tug vessel "levoli Black," reveals  Ardent in a press release.

The tug is scheduled to arrive at Kirkwall station at the Orkney Islands ahead of New Year, where the ship will replace the current vessel. According to Ardent, the ship can fight fire, provide anchor handling, towage, serve research purposes, as well as under water services. The vessel has previously assisted the Dutch coastguard.
