Greek container carriers plan merger

Listed Euroseas and Poseidon Container Holdings have begun initial talks concerning a merger of the two carriers' container fleets.

The two Greek-based carriers, listed Euroseas and Poseidon Containers Holdings, are in talks concerning a merger of their container fleets, according to a stock exchange notice from Euroseas.

With a merger, the two shipowners together would have a fleet of 31 owned and chartered vessels, which could, as one of several possibilities, be separated into an independent company.
