Russia plans to launch a direct shipping route to Syria so that Russian companies can help rebuild the war-torn country, said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, according to Russian news agency TASS Tuesday, reports Reuters.
Further details relating to the efforts surrounding the new shipping route were not disclosed, but according to Reuters, the imports of goods from Russia, especially wheat, and an improvement of Syrian exports, will benefit Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
