Shipping still a way off from final CO2 target

The IMO has now emerged with a draft for a climate strategy in the IMO. However, the deal does not set out any concrete goals for CO2 reductions. Maersk is disappointed. So are the NGOs.

After a long period of negotiations the IMO has now achieved a draft of the climate strategy for shipping, reveals industry association Danish Shipping to ShippingWatch.

This follows a week of meetings of the IMO's CO2 working group in London, where countries have been negotiating a climate strategy, with participation from more than 60 nations.
