Half the world's newbuilds have yet to be delivered this year

More than 1,000 newbuilds scheduled for delivery in 2017 have yet to be delivered this year, reports VesselsValue.

With just around two months left of the calendar year 2017, a significant portion of the global newbuild orderbook scheduled for this year still has yet to hit the water.

According to numbers from VesselsValue, half the orderbook planned for delivery this year has still not been delivered. While 2,440 ships are scheduled for 2017, only 1,220 have hit the water so far.
