IMO postpones meeting of environmental committee indefinitely

The coronavirus prompts the IMO to postpone the next important meeting of its environmental committee. No new date is set, and the IMO's headquarters close.

The UN's International Maritime Organization (IMO) postpones the upcoming meeting of its Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) due to the escalating coronavirus situation.

The meeting was originally scheduled to be held from March 30 to April 3, but the global challenge of containing the coronavirus means postponing the meeting. No new date has been set yet.
