CO2-neutral vessels could be ready by as early as 2024, if one asks Lloyd's Register's director of Marine & Offshore. The industry is working at full speed, but one factor could prove a challenge.

The race to develop and launch a CO2-neutral vessel has by now spread to most of the industry, where several players are currently working to develop the necessary solutions.

As a result, it may be possible to launch the first vessel capable of sailing without emitting greenhouse gases from 2024 already.
