Total Energies to explore ammonia as a fuel for shipping

In collaboration with 22 companies from various sectors, Total Energies plans to investigate options to produce and use green ammonia as fuel in the shipping industry.

Oil company Total Energies will be more deeply involved in the exploration of ammonia as a sustainable fuel for shipping. Among other things, this will be done through a collaboration with 22 companies from various sectors, with the aim of investigating the possibilities of developing green ammonia for shipping.

The collaboration comprises, among others, mining company Anglo American, oil company Equinor, engine manufacturer MAN Energy and commodity trader Trafigura.
