Shipping groups propose new deadline for submitting ballast water data to IMO

Major shipping organizations like Bimoc, ICS, Intertanko and Intercargo want to postpone the deadline for when flag states must have gathered data and experience regarding ballast water systems by at least two years, until the fall of 2024.

It will be very difficult to gather the necessary data and experience on ballast water systems as well as water analyses in line with the UN's International Maritime Organization's timeframe.
