Shipowners to gather during climate summit to discuss decarbonization efforts in shipping

For this year's COP26 summit in Glasgow, the International Chamber of Shipping will discuss the green transition with regulators and politicians. Topics include the shipping industry's efforts to reach climate targets.

It is crucial to ensure that sufficient progress is made if the shipping industry is to reach its climate targets.

Accordingly, shipowners and shipping majors have called a conference on the topic of the green transition, which will be held during the upcoming COP26 summit. The industry aims to seek political support and appreciation of the efforts made by shipping to reduce CO2 emissions.

3i buys AMP out of Esvagt

Private equity firm 3i, which owns half of carrier Esvagt, has agreed with the company's second owner, AMP Capital, to take over all of Esvagt for GBP 268 million, making 3i the sole owner. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.
