CMA CGM orders trackers for 50,000 containers

CMA CGM has ordered trackers to measure everything from temperature fluctuations to GPS positions on 50,000 of its containers. The supplier is a company invested in by the French container line.

French container line CMA CGM takes yet another step toward making its transportation smarter with an order for 50,000 trackers for its containers, according to a statement by the company.

The trackers are meant to give the company and its customers continual updates on containers' locations, if and when their doors are opened and closed, temperatures outside containers as well as the intensity of potential "shocks" during transport.
