Maersk announces sulfur surcharge on short-term contracts

Maersk just informed its customers of the size of its sulfur surcharges on contracts lasting up to three months, after the company calculated the difference between high- and low-sulfur fuel. See the price of the surcharges on five main routes.

The world's biggest container shipping line, Maersk, just informed its customers about the size of the sulfur surcharges, which are a result of the global regulations coming into force on Jan. 1, 2020.

The announcement concerns spot and short-term contracts lasting up to three months, on which the surcharge will take effect from Dec. 1 and need to be announced a month in advance.
