"If you haven't bought a scrubber, do so now"

Buying scrubbers is the cheapest way to comply with the sulfur requirements when they come into force on Jan. 1 2020, says bunker consultant Robin Meech at a conference Thursday. Maersk reiterates that it will not use scrubbers.

Just make the decision and choose the cheapest option – a scrubber, said Robin Meech, managing director at MECL (Marine and Energy Consulting Limited) at Platts' 6th Annual Mediterranean Bunker Fuel Conference in Athens.
