The Trump administration is imposing tariffs on steel and aluminum imported from the European Union, Canada and Mexico to help protect America's manufacturing base.
The decision, announced by Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, came hours before temporary exemptions were due to elapse at 12:01 am in Washington on Friday. The allies have vowed retaliation against such a trade action.
