European shipbuilding major reports less than stellar first half of 2018

Shipbuilding group Fincantieri reports a modest profit for the first half of the year, while its subsidiary Vard in Norway saw revenue grow though its deficit deepened. Find the numbers below.

Italian shipbuilding major Fincanteri finished the first half of the year with a modest profit, while Norwegian shipbuilder Vard, owned by Fincantieri, saw its revenue grow while earnings dipped.

Fincatieri's profit for the first half of 2018 came to EUR 15 million, up EUR 4 million compared to the same period last year, shows the company's interim report.
