Samsung Heavy expects bigger orderbook in 2019

Shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries expects to increase orders by almost 25 percent in 2019 compared to last year, writes media. Other shipyards have similar expectations.

Major South Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries expects a growing orderbook in 2019, which will be almost 25 percent larger than last year measured in value.

According to South Korean media Yonhap, the shipbuilder expects to bag orders for a total value of USD 7.8 billion this year. If the target sticks, it would mark a 24 percent increase compared with 2018, reports the media.
