Climate regulation makes northern European shipyards busy

Shipyards in North Europe are kept plenty busy with installing scrubbers, and already now orders for ballast water systems are coming in. ShippingWatch has interviewed a Norwegian, Danish and Polish shipyard about the market going into 2020.

Several major northern European shipyards are currently seeing a boost in activity from the environmental requirements imposed on shipping in both the short and longer term.

ShippingWatch has spoken to three major shipbuilders in Poland, Denmark and Norway, and at least the first two, Remontowa and Fayard, agree that the requirements keep them very busy, increasing revenue.
