Biden's administration makes Ørsted CEO optimistic about approval in the US

Ørsted has now waited longer for an approval in the US than the company had hoped, but signs from the Biden administration have renewed the company's optimism, says CEO Mads Nipper. "Processes are now in motion."

Optimism is greater now than it has been before in terms of the pending regulatory approvals in the US market, said Ørsted's new chief executive, Mads Nipper, who took over the reins at the Danish utility at the turn of the year, in connection with publishing the company's annual report.

"It's an area where there has been some stagnation, and we've also been honest about the fact that things have moved slowly. But we're starting to see things thaw. We don't have so much transparency that we can give an update on our plans, but we've received some indications that processes are now in motion," Nipper tells Ritzau Finans.
