Yara explores ammonia bunkering and distribution in Japan

Yara has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with local companies in Japan to explore the possibilities of establishing clean ammonia bunkering and distribution in Japan.

Norwegian chemical company Yara International has, according to a company release, entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two companies in Japan, ammonia player JERA and petroleum company Idemitsu Kosan. The aim is to explore the potential for a collaboration on clean – both blue and green – ammonia bunkering and distribution in Japan.

The collaboration will accelerate Japan's green energy transition, the release states.
