Østergaard-Nielsen in phone tap recording: "We'll crash and burn in this case"

Three phone calls, tapped by the police, were played back when Torben Østergaard-Nielsen took the stand in the Dan-Bunkering case Tuesday, revealing a founder under pressure: "This really isn't good," "we'll crash and burn in this case," "we shouldn't bandy the truth around, but we need to know our own case," he said while the police were listening in.

Torben Østergaard-Nielsen, Danish oil billionaire and founder of USTC and the world's largest bunker supplier, took the stand Tuesday to give his version of the events detailed in the Dan-Bunkering case.

Early on in the court session, he was presented with recordings from three phone calls that the police had wiretapped.
