Maersk Broker sees stagnating sales of container, dry bulk ships

After an extreme year in both the container and dry bulk segments, which have seen several ship sales, trading is now stagnating somewhat. ”There are fewer buyers, but optimism isn’t gone,” Maersk Broker executive tells ShippingWatch.

This past year has seen high activity in container and dry bulk, which is reflected by the number of ship trades within these two segments.

But now it seems that buying and selling of ships have stagnated as rates are declining slightly again, says the Mærsk family’s shipbroker, Maersk Broker.
