Maersk Supply Service has entered a seven-year charter contract with DeepOcean in relation to a new specialized ship for transporting and installing high-voltage cables. The ship will be delivered by the Damen Galati shipyard in Romania in early 2016, says the company in a press release.
The new ship - a DOC 8500, custom built for DeepOcean - will be owned and operated by Maersk Supply Service, and the vessel serves as the latest addition to the company's fleet, which currently consists of more than 60 vessels.
