Fight for Costa Concordia order enters final stage

Italian ports and politicians are fighting fiercely to win the order to scrap the wrecked cruise ship Costa Concordia.

The fight to win the coveted contract to scrap the massive remains of wrecked cruise ship Costa Concordia - which is currently located off the Italian island Iglio - is intensifying and expected to be decided in the near future.

The wreck will be removed by the Dutch heavy lift vessel Dockwise Vanguard, but politicians in Tuscany have recently warned against pollution from Costa Concordia in relation to when the wrecked remains will be lifted and transported away, according to Tradewinds and other media.
