The dramatic slide in the oil price has now reached Orskov Yard in Frederikshavn, Denmark, as the company is fighting for offshore contracts and was forced to lay off 17 employees on Thursday, Chairman Christina Ørskov tells ShippingWatch in the wake of an otherwise solid annual report.

The oil price being cut in half now leads to noticeable consequences at one of Denmark's biggest shipyards, Orskov Yard. On Thursday the yard laid off 17 employees due to developments in the oil sector, the key customer group for the company, Chairman Christina Ørskov tells ShippingWatch.
