Statoil has appointed new CEO

Statoil's board of directors has appointed Eldar Sætre as CEO of the company. He has held the post since October when former CEO Helge Lund left the company.

The new man in charge of Norwegian oil giant Statoil is no stranger to the business.

The board of directors has appointed Eldar Sætre, with 35 years of experience at Statoil, as new CEO of the company. He has acted as a interim CEO since former CEO Helge Lund left the company to instead take over as head of British BG Group, says Statoil in a statement:
