Statoil is carrying out its announced job cuts, which in round numbers will shave 150 out of 1000 US jobs. About 70 employees were turned away last week, writes Norwegian daily Stavanger Aftenblad. They didn't just receive a notice of termination, but were immediately thrown out - by the security guards.

"Last week all employees of the Houston and Austin offices were called in to one-on-one conversations with their immediate supervisor and a representative from HR. This is where they were informed whether they would continue with the new organisation or not," says Statoil's communication manager, Knut Rostad, to the newspaper.
