Pump manufacturer Desmi has sold 14 ballast water systems to seven Maersk Line newbuildings. The systems will be delivered in 2016 and 2017, writes Desmi in a press release.
According to the press release, the seven Maersk Line container ships, whose size is not yet known, will be built at the COSCO Zhoushan shipyard in China, where the ships will be fitted with two RayClean type ballast water cleaning systems, which use UV rays to rid ballast water of unwanted particles.
