Lundin Petroleum: Barents Sea is the next big hope

Lundin Petroleum has increased production in the Norwegian part of the North Sea, but the promising fields of the future are farther North, says the company.

In the southern part of the Barents Sea, off of Norway's most northern coast, one can find some of today's most promising and exciting new oil fields, according to an optimistic announcement from Swedish oil company Lundin Petroleum about the Barents Sea.

The message should perhaps be taken even more seriously considering who sent it. Lundin is the company that discovered the major Johan Sverdrup field which other oil companies had failed to notice.
