Keppel Marine & Offshore suffers half-year deficit

Keppel's marine business, which covers several yards specializing in offshore, suffered a deficit in the first six months of the year, compared to a profit of USD 177 million in the same period last year. The offshore sector drags the business down.

The challenging times in the offshore market drag Keppel's marine business into the red.

The Singapore-based group owns, among other activities, owns a series of shipyards that focus in particular on construction and repairs of rigs and offshore vessels. This business has been hit by the downturn in the oil market.
